Today was a fun day! Other than the fact I had to fly from Ottawa to Minneapolis on a Sunday so I could be there for work bright and early on Monday, it was a good day. As a part of a photography seminar, today I went with some friends from work on a photo expedition of a Quebec farm in Fall. It was beautiful and very relaxing! In addition to practicing my eye for composition, it provided me with a unique opportunity. I was able to pit my 2007 Canon PowerShot SD800IS point and shoot against my circa 1996 Canon Elan IIe 35mm SLR. Nearly every time I took a photo with the SLR, I took the same shot (or as close as I could to it) with the point and shoot. How do the two cameras compare? We shall find out in a few days!
As Jessica said in her blog, I want to go back to Disneyland! We both had such a great time there. I'm not sure what makes it so special for me... I do know that one thing that holds true for me now that I'm a part of the rat race is when you are there, you don't have any other care in the world. The outside world no longer matters. The only thing that matters while you are there is figuring out what ride you should go on next, or where the best place to sit and people watch is. Ahhh.
Disneyland was so much fun! We were there for three days, and I don't think that was enough. Mark and I toured California Adventure park on Day 1, then Disneyland for two full days.
My favorite part was that everyone there is so happy. The rides were amazing - even the kid ones for Pinochio, Pirates of the Carribean, Peter Pan and others. The look on Mark's face when I was experiencing these rides for the first time was really funny. He was just so happy to be there!
It's a Small World was funny because they even had a Canadian Mountie in it! It was so elaborate to see all of the dancing dolls. We also went on Dumbo, the huge pirate ship, the Haunted Mansion, Alice in Wonderland, and Big Thunder Mountain.
Jessica and I went to Disneyland last week!!! We had such an amazing time. It is too bad that our jobs don't just pay us to hang out in the park :-) We'll give you all a more detailed update soon!
I can't believe it's almost June! Mark and I are still enjoying the fact that we are newlyweds in a "new" home! We're having a blast and are still busy as ever. For some reason, work never slows down!
Each weekend, we're starting to resemble ordinary people by going to places other than Home Depot. This weekend, we went to see the Electric Vehicle Show in Ottawa (very very cool) and worked on the house by cleaning up the backyard to get ready for some landscaping. We're planning to build our own deck for the back and really spend a lot of time enjoying our new view.
Next weekend, we're off to Seattle for Maria's graduation.
Mark and I are looking forward to a great year with the house construction coming to a close. It's been such a long time coming, that we're ready to enjoy our home and hope to have many house guests at 80 Frank this year.
Hello everyone! This is my first post to www.mancascafe.com. Stop back every once in a while to check out how we're doing here at the Manca family.
